Introduction :
Holders to full first degrees awarded by Universities actable to the University Of London may be considered for admission to the Graduate Entry Routes which enables them to complete the degree in a minimum of two years.

Assessment:
Assessment is based solely upon a three hour unseen written examination in each subject. Accordingly, the degree is particularly suited for students who prefer a single and unified assessment regime.

Description: Fully Qualified Law Degree

Introduction:
This is a modular Law Degree offered in conjunction with the University’s School of Legal Studies. The degree offers a Comprehensive range of modules thus enabling students to specialize in most areas of law.

Assessment:
Assessment is by combination of examination and coursework. All Aspects of course assessment are set and marked by internal staff (ie. The Academic faculty at Holborn College and members of the School of Legal Studies at the University of Wolverhampton.).

UNIVERSITY OF LONDON DIPLOMA IN LAW

Description: Law Diploma with access to year 2 of LLB Hons
 
Introduction:
This course is designed for students who do not have “A” Levels but who can demonstrate that they have the academic ability and motivation to complete a law degree. As such it is a suitable programme for “late developers” and/or persons with a work experience profile.
 
Assessment:
Assessment is by written examination.

DIPLOMA IN LAW

Diploma in Law of External students may only be offered by an institution that has been given permission to teach for the Diploma by the University of London. Such permission is only granted where the University is satisfied that the institution can offer teaching ad facilities at an appropriate standard.

British School of Law has the permission from the University of London to teach External students for Diploma in Law of the University of London. The diploma in law cannot be studied by students independently. Attendance at an institution which has been given ‘Permission to teach’ is compulsory.

The Diploma in Law provides an opportunity to reach first-year undergraduate level both for students who satisfy the normal University entrance requirements for the LLB degree but who choose not to register for the degree, and for those who may not have has the chance to meet these requirements but can demonstrate that they have the ability, motivation and maturity to study at this level.

You will be able to enter the second year of the LLB as an External student, under either Scheme A or Scheme B of the examinations. Scheme A requires a minimum of two further years’ study to complete the degree, Scheme B a minimum of three further years.
 
Successful Diploma students who have obtained very high marks and have taken the necessary subjects may be considered by a number of British universities for entry as internal students into the second year of a degree programme.

Criminal Law
Public Law
Common Law Reasoning and Institutions
Elements of the Law of Contract
AND
British School of Law will also provide classes in study skills and, where necessary additional English language teaching.

 

1. Student wishing to apply for the Diploma must be 18 years of age before 1 September in the year that they register with the University as an External student for the Diploma.
 
2. Registration with the University will be carried out by the British School of Law.
